Welcome to My New Home!

This is my first post on my new site, and I couldn’t be more excited about this change. Sure, it was a lot of work (and more to come), but I’m happy that’s it’s finally at a point where I’m not embarrassed to announce it to the world.

My New Logo

Have you had a chance to check out my new digs? The blog page is pretty similar to my old one – I think the only major difference is there is now the ‘Home page’ which has a few of my favourite projects as well as some of my recent posts. I’ve also added a drop down menu at the top labelled ‘rooms’ where you can see each of the posts I’ve done for the rooms in my home.

So – what do you think? Should I change anything? Is there anything I should add?

Change is Good Right? I Hope so Because I’m Moving!

No, I’m not selling my condo, but I have decided it’s time to get going on some of my goals for 2012, and first up is to move my blog to a self hosted site. This unfortunately means I will no longer be posting via this blog, but fear not – I’ll be posting over at www.sweetsuite10.com from now on (and all my old posts are over there as well).

Moving to a self-hosted blog is something I’ve wanted to do for a while, but have put off due to fear. I’m relatively new to the world of blogging and the thought of having to handle everything myself was really quite scary. Also, there was that fear that you, the lovely people who read my ramblings, decide that updating their bookmarks, feed readers and email subscriptions is too much trouble? After a while I realised that when I originally started this blog just over a year ago I didn’t know anything about the world of blogging, but I still jumped in feet first. I would just have to have faith and make the jump again – if after I switched I was starting again from scratch, then that would be okay, because this blog is something I do primarily for me – to record the zany projects I think of and work on. Having said that, I really love when you visit and read what I’ve been up to, and even add an occasional comment, so please, please, please go over to my new site and continue to do so;) .

Anyway, after Christmas I finally got up the nerve and started the process to switch despite my numerous fears. I have to admit that this project has included a rather steep learning curve (a month ago I had no idea that CSS code even existed – let alone worked with it), but I finally have a site that works even if I still feel it’s not quite perfect. I think this will be a project that will be regularly tweaked until I feel that it’s just right.

Now, here’s the part that requires a little work from you. Please go over to my new site: www.sweetsuite10.com and take a look around. There’s a main page which has a couple of my favourite projects featured, and you can also see the last few posts I’ve done.

There’s also a blog page which looks similar to this one, with my most recent post at the top.

While you’re there please take the time to subscribe and maybe even leave me a comment letting me know what you think of my new home – do you like it? Should I change anything? Is there anything I should add to make my site better?
